The Baron Citadel - Peter Hamilton-Giles

The Baron Citadel presents a sequence of preparatory rites leading toward the making of the Crossroads. Structured as a working text, the grimoire combines practical ritual progression with reflective exercises designed to guide the practitioner through a series of symbolic “stakes,” each linked to a spirit whose name is discovered through personal engagement rather than given outright.

Rooted in folkloric practice, this work laid important groundwork for later titles by the author, particularly the Book of the Black Dragon series. Many themes explored more fully in those volumes are prefigured here, making this text a foundational entry point into the broader current of crooked path sorcery associated with the author’s body of work.

The material draws in part on the author’s ritual experiences in Northern Haiti and his earlier work alongside Andrew D. Chumbley, distilled into a structured format intended for dedicated practitioners. The result is a text that balances experiential insight with philosophical commentary while retaining its function as a practical manual of approach.
